My first post on my site and the first time posting from my iPhone, using the WordPress app. Consider this post my own extensive review on the product.
I’m just testing things out now but soon I’ll be blogging regularly, so an app like this could prove to be very useful when I can’t be at my computer.
I’m now modifying this post after having modified it once already from my WordPress backend, and I see code from when I added a link. I suspect that means this app is workable for someone who knows a bit of HTML, but possibly a bit limited to one who doesn’t. Fortunately (at least in this case), WordPress takes care of the breaks for you. The main potential issue for an HTML illiterate would be inserting links. But then thinking efficiantly, one could simply make these adjustments to a post later when an internet enabled computer is handy.
For simple text posts however, or jotting down a post idea as a draft, which one could later edit, this is a great app when you’re on the go. It sure beats logging into the backend of your blog site and trying to punch it in there (less load time and easier to navigate within). You can even set your post’s publish status, type or modify tags and pick your catagories— even after you save and publish.
Copying and pasting isn’t really an option on the iPhone though (otherwise I would have moved this paragraph up so I could end this post on that last note), but perhaps Apple will add that as a feature to future generations of the iPhone.
Update: Now you can edit pages and comments too! Unfortunately, it appears you can only access your 10 most recent pages.
