I recently found a great article on how to make a background for the new Twitter interface from some folks who really did their homework. Unfortunately, it appears as though Twitter changed their interface some time after this post was published. As a result I had to do my own math on how to make a professional Twitter background. So I thought I’d take the liberty to share what I worked out as a sort of follow-up blog post, and to help those who want to develop their Twitter backgrounds with up-to-date pixel-perfect accuracy.
I suppose the Twitter team came to the realization that they had severed much of their users’ branding opportunity, and decided to rectify the matter. Whatever the case may be, I’d have to say it was a wise choice for them to reduce the width of the Twitter interface down to what it is now. I think it looks better, but even more importantly, it provides branding opportunity once again.
